The California Teaching Performance Expectation (TPE) are areas where teachers are expected to demonstrate through the development of their lesson plans, unit plan, written article, or other forms of artifacts that shows how they met and reflected those areas. For instance, a teacher who is going to explain how they can get get to know their student may post up their worksheet that the student will have to fill out about themselves so the teacher can read about. Another method maybe daily journal entry that covers a scenario that uncovers how a student thinks or their experience and knowledge that they know. This standards-based evidence demonstrates that a candidate have achieved the competencies represented by the 13 Teaching Performance Expectations and include a reflection in the TPE. The reflection may include what is good about the lesson, what is it's purpose, and how the artifact addresses the TPE that it is associate with.
